CMT Signs Up 1,000 Boston Taxicabs for Credit Card and Technology Package New York, NY, USA, January 27, 2009 - Just two weeks after Creative Mobile Technologies (CMT), the nation's largest comprehensive taxi technology services provider, announced deals with three Boston taxi radio associations to install media screens and self-swipe credit card readers, the first 1,000 Boston taxicabs of the citywide fleet of 1825 are now signed up to receive CMT's patented technology. "We are committed to providing Boston's taxi industry and passengers with the benefits of our technology as quickly as possible and are thrilled to announce our 1,000th signed contract," said Jason Poliner, Chief Operating Officer of CMT. "We look forward to signing up more taxi owners and commencing the installation process so Boston passengers can start taking advantage of safe, secure self-swipe credit cards as well as a newly digitized taxi riding experience in March and April of this year." The City of Boston has mandated that all Boston taxi owners install credit card readers in the rear seats of taxicabs by the April 2009 inspection period. The vast majority of taxi owners decided to exceed the requirements of the mandate by signing with CMT which not only provides credit card readers that enable passengers to securely swipe their own credit card and complete wireless transactions in seconds, but an entire suite of technology, including touch screen Passenger Information Monitors that will feature entertainment, advertising, and informational content as well as GPS-powered passenger maps. CMT provides Boston taxi owners with free state-of-the-art equipment, secure wireless connections, credit card processing, trip data, dispatch compatibility, and back-office management designed to propel the Boston taxi industry into a new era of sophistication, efficiency, and service. These new service offerings expand and improve upon CMT's award-winning "FREEdom Solution," developed in New York City by leading technology professionals and recognized leaders of the taxi industry. So what can Boston taxi owners and drivers expect to see as a result of the technology? In the two years since the New York City program was launched, CMT has revolutionized and redefined the modern rider's taxicab experience. Today, nearly one-quarter of all CMT taxi volume is paid for with a credit card and tipping approaches 20% per fare, which is believed to be a significant increase over cash fares. Passenger volume has dramatically increased, and passengers are responding positively to the engaging media content and interactive functionality provided on the rear seat monitors. About Creative Mobile Technologies Creative Mobile Technologies (CMT) began providing New York City taxicabs with credit and debit card processing, media and advertising content, text messaging, interactive passengers maps, GPS, and electronic trip sheets in 2007. In New York, CMT, which gained a reputation as the "by the industry, for the industry" taxi technology solution, partnered with Bank of America, World Line Communications, Feeney Wireless and Mobile Knowledge. CMT's media partner, Clear Channel Taxi Media developed the exclusive NY10 Taxi Entertainment Network with content by NBC Universal. CMT is now the nation's leading provider of total taxi technology solutions, operating in over 5,500 New York City taxicabs and soon to be in over 2,600 Chicago taxicabs. CMT's "FREEdom Solution" received one of VISA's highest honors for its commitment to credit card security and privacy protection. To learn more, visit www.cmtnyc.com. For Further Information Contact:
